INVESTIGATION SKILLS
 
The ability to gather evidence, interview people and present the facts is becoming increasingly necessary in today’s climate of litigation often resulting in tribunal and court actions.

This course is designed to give you training in all the basic skills required to initiate an inquiry, gather the facts and present them in an unbiased and professional manner.

The emphasis is on real life skills, we will tell you the theory, the rules and best practice but concentrate on giving you the confidence to put all these things into practice

Who will the Course benefit?
Anyone involved in investigations in the workplace or who has regulatory responsibilities in the public sector. Our students have included managers who investigate disciplinary matters, human resource and Health and Safety professionals, members of local authorities and those who are new to the security sector and are seeking to enhance their career or earning opportunities.
 
What skills will you gain?
 
The ability to:
  • Initiate an investigation and recognise warning signs
  • Identify sources of evidence and evaluate how to protect/secure it
  • Understand and work within legislative and ethical requirements
  • Gather evidence from victims and witnesses
  • Plan and conduct formal investigative interviews
  • Prepare statements and reports and present facts
  • Understand the court/tribunal process
